TDI Sidemount Cave Diver Course

This course is designed to teach already certified cave divers how to safely utilize side-mounted primary
cylinders as an alternative to back mounted configurations in the cave environment. There are many
advantages to diving sidemounts in a cave including the easy of putting gear on in the water which is
handy when diving sites with small entrances. It is also far mor streamlined than back mounted tanks
meaning that you will be able to negotiate flatteners and rescrictions in a cave with ease and also create
less silting.  Some of the skills you will learn on the course include:
  
  • Familiarization with equipment
  • Using twin independent cylinders
  • Proper trim and buoyancy techniques
  • Swapping and sharing cylinders
  • Different entry and exit techniques
  • Overhead Environment Emergency Procedures


PRE-REQUISITES:
Have a minimum TDI Full Cave, CDAA Advanced Cave or Equivalent.
Show proof of a minimum 20 logged Cave Dives.
Be a minimum of 18 year old.

SCHEDULE:  (The entire course is conducted in Mt Gambier**)
Day #1- 8:00am to 6:00pm (Theory, Gear Configuration, Confined Water Dive & Dive 1)
Day #2- 8:00am to 2:00pm (Dives 2 & 3)

(Structure normally consists of dives in Gouldens, Allendale, Pines and Englebrechts West)

COST: $599.00

Includes: Instruction, Certification, Certificate.

All gear must be provided by student or can be hired at extra cost. Airfills, accommodation, etc in Mt Gambier is not included.
